A Hoarding Alliance local resource guide
A respectful place to begin, whether you are looking for support for yourself, supporting someone you care about, or trying to understand a housing, safety, health, or practical concern in Starke or Bradford County.
Start here - Fight the Blight
Talk through what feels most urgent and what kind of next step would feel safe. You do not have to promise to discard belongings or invite anyone into a home to ask for information.
Fight the Blight is the nonprofit, peer-centered starting point for people affected by hoarding and clutter concerns and family supporters. Reach out to ask what virtual group or next-step conversation is currently available; there is no need to promise a cleanup or invite anyone into a home.
Role: nonprofit hoarding-support front door and virtual peer groups; geography: ask about online options from Starke and Bradford County; cost/eligibility: confirm group fit, schedule, access, and any cost; emergency limit: peer support, not therapy, clinical care, or crisis response
Call 911 for immediate danger, active fire, violence, or an urgent medical emergency. Call or text 988 for emotional distress or a behavioral-health crisis. For non-emergency food, housing, utilities, health, or transportation navigation, contact 211. Disaster shelters are activated only for specific emergencies and are not routine housing. A listing or referral does not guarantee service, eligibility, or placement.
