The Peer Tree
Offers peer support, family guidance, groups, and practical organizing-related help. Ask whether a specific service can be provided in Indiana and what it costs.
A Hoarding Alliance local resource guide
You do not have to solve everything at once. Start with what would make daily life a little safer or easier, then choose one manageable next step. Kokomo is Howard County's seat, but city, county, and regional services can have different boundaries and eligibility.
Start here - Fight the Blight
Fight the Blight is the nonprofit front door for a respectful conversation and virtual peer groups. The Peer Tree is a separate private-pay option. Unburied offers digital peer support, not therapy or emergency help. Local behavioral-health and medical providers are listed below; ask them directly about intake, cost, insurance, and fit. No local hoarding-specialty clinician or cleanup provider was verified for this guide.
For immediate danger, fire, serious injury, or urgent medical need, call 911. For emotional distress or a mental-health or substance-use crisis, call or text 988; Indiana says specialists are available 24/7. For domestic violence, Family Service Association lists a local 24-hour crisis hotline. Adult Protective Services and the child-abuse hotline are reporting pathways, not emergency responders. Housing, crisis stabilization, and all other services depend on current intake and availability; call before traveling or relying on them.

A note from the Alliance
This guide is anchored in Kokomo, Indiana, and includes city, county, state, nonprofit, national, and independent pathways. A listing here does not mean Fight the Blight endorses every provider or can guarantee availability. The Hoarding Alliance is not a city or county agency, therapy practice, emergency service, or cleanup company. We will keep reviewing this page, but please confirm details directly before relying on them.
