A Hoarding Alliance local resource guide
A respectful place to begin, whether you are looking for support for yourself, worried about someone you love, or trying to respond to a housing, safety, care, or practical concern in Arcadia or DeSoto County.
Start here - Fight the Blight
Talk through what feels most urgent and what kind of next step would feel safe. You do not have to promise to discard belongings or let anyone into your home to ask for information.
Fight the Blight is the nonprofit, peer-centered starting point for people affected by hoarding and clutter concerns and for family supporters. Reach out to ask what virtual group or next-step conversation is currently available; there is no need to promise a cleanup or invite anyone into a home.
Role: nonprofit hoarding-support front door and virtual peer groups; geography: ask about online options from Arcadia and DeSoto County; cost/eligibility: confirm group fit, schedule, access and any cost; emergency limit: peer support, not therapy, clinical care or crisis response
Call 911 for immediate danger, active fire, violence, or an urgent medical emergency. Call or text 988 for emotional distress or a behavioral-health crisis. For food, housing, utility, health, transportation, or other local-service navigation, contact 211. Disaster shelters are not routine housing, and a resource listing does not guarantee placement or service.
