Washington's Health Care Authority lists Yakima County's regional crisis line and directs residents to behavioral-health crisis support. Call for help understanding a crisis or the next qualified-care pathway. This is crisis and care navigation, not a cleanup provider or a guarantee of in-home response.
NAMI Yakima provides education, support, advocacy, and local resource information for people affected by mental-health conditions and their families. Ask what current support groups, classes, or referrals may fit. NAMI is not emergency dispatch, therapy, or a cleanup provider.
The International OCD Foundation directory can be searched for clinicians, support groups, organizers, and programs that indicate an interest in hoarding-related care. Listings are not endorsements. Ask about current experience, licensure, fees, insurance, wait time, privacy, and whether home-based or telehealth work fits.
Safety and stability
These pathways serve different situations. Read the labels carefully before calling, especially when a response may involve protective services, crisis response, domestic-violence advocacy, public health, municipal code, or emergency dispatch.
Call 911 when there is immediate danger, fire, a medical emergency, violence, or a threat that cannot wait for a scheduled service. Emergency dispatch is not a hoarding-support program, counseling service, or cleanup provider.
Call or text 988 for emotional distress, a mental-health or substance-use crisis, or concern about someone else. 988 is not a cleanup provider and does not guarantee an in-home response; call 911 for immediate danger.
Washington's current crisis-line listing identifies the Yakima County regional crisis line as available 24/7 regardless of insurance or income. Call for crisis support and ask what local response or qualified-care referral is appropriate. This is not cleanup or guaranteed emergency transport.
Washington DSHS directs people to Adult Protective Services when an older or vulnerable adult may be experiencing abuse, neglect, self-neglect, or financial exploitation. Use 911 for immediate danger. APS is not a general clutter-removal service and does not replace emergency dispatch.
YWCA Yakima offers domestic-violence emergency shelter, a 24/7 helpline, legal advocacy, crisis and mobile advocacy, and transitional housing. Use a safe way to contact the organization and ask about current options. This is not general hoarding support or a guaranteed shelter placement.
Yakima's Code Compliance program responds to garbage accumulation, junk vehicles, vacant buildings, public nuisances, and substandard or unsafe living conditions. Ask about jurisdiction, notice, accommodations, consent, inspection, and abatement. It is not therapy, crisis care, or cleanup assistance.
Yakima County provides information about domestic-violence, stalking, harassment, sexual-assault, and vulnerable-adult protection orders. A vulnerable-adult order can address abuse, neglect, or financial exploitation, and the county states there is no filing fee for that order. This is legal information, not legal representation or emergency dispatch.
People and practical help
These listings offer connections for care, housing, shelter, food, benefits, legal support, health, repairs, public resources, organizing, or peer support. They are independent organizations; ask about current availability, cost, scope, consent, and safety before relying on them.
Yakima Housing Authority provides low-income housing, Housing Choice Voucher and Section 8 access, family housing, senior housing, and other affordable-housing programs. Ask about current application openings, waitlists, reasonable accommodations, and documentation. Housing assistance does not include cleanup by itself.
Yakima County's housing-resources page points residents to the Yakima Housing Authority, crisis housing, transitional and permanent housing, Habitat for Humanity, and Yakama Nation Housing Authority. Use it as a local map and confirm each program's current intake, eligibility, and availability directly.
Yakima Union Gospel Mission lists free meals, adult overnight shelter, showers, clothing, medical services at its facility, and residential programs addressing addiction and homelessness. Confirm current hours, intake, safety, and bed availability before traveling. It is not a general cleanup service.
Sunrise Outreach Center connects people with basic needs, food pantries, water, shelter outreach, and housing-related support. It describes its work as faith-based but says participation is not required. Confirm current hours, eligibility, and capacity before relying on a referral.
Yakima County identifies the Northwest Harvest Food Bank and Fruitvale Community Market as a local food resource. Confirm current pantry or drive-through schedule, identification requirements, household rules, and accepted service area before traveling.
Central Washington Legal Aid provides free civil legal advocacy and services in the region, including housing-related matters. Ask whether the current issue fits its service area and eligibility rules. Legal aid is not a cleanup provider or emergency dispatch.
Washington LawHelp offers plain-language legal information and forms for housing, landlord-tenant concerns, benefits, debt, and other civil matters. It is a self-help and referral resource, not legal representation or a substitute for emergency help.
Yakima Neighborhood Health Services is listed by the City of Yakima among local health, rental-assistance, and homelessness resources. Confirm the current program scope, intake route, eligibility, and whether the requested concern is within its service area before relying on a referral.
The Yakama Nation Housing Authority describes elder services, low-income rental housing, weatherization, maintenance, and other community programs. Ask about service-area and tribal-eligibility rules, current applications, and reasonable accommodations. It is not a general cleanup service.
OIC of Washington is listed among Yakima-area home-repair and housing resources. Ask whether the current repair or accessibility concern is within its geography, program scope, and eligibility rules. Repair assistance is not a hoarding cleanup or emergency service.
Yakima County identifies Yakima Valley Partners Habitat for Humanity among local housing resources. Ask about current home-repair, accessibility, or housing programs and confirm geography, income, ownership, and application requirements. It is not a general cleanup provider.
The City of Yakima's public-resources list gathers current contacts for rent and utility help, food, legal aid, health care, domestic-violence support, and other practical needs. Use it as a starting map and confirm details directly with the listed organization before relying on them.
The Peer Tree is the private-pay pathway for organizing help, decluttering support, groups, family guidance, and practical next steps when a grant or public program is not the right fit. Ask about scope, cost, travel, consent, safety, and whether requested support is available in Yakima or Yakima County.
Unburied, from The Peer Tree, offers a judgment-free digital pathway with peer support, groups, and tools for people directly affected and for friends or family supporters. It is not therapy, a crisis service, or a substitute for emergency help.
