Our virtual groups give people affected by hoarding and clutter concerns a place to connect from Reno, Washoe County, and other communities. We can help you think through what is happening and what kind of next step may fit.

First conversations
You do not need to know the perfect service name before reaching out. These organizations can help you understand the landscape and identify a next step.
Nevada 211 can help identify current local and statewide resources for housing, food, mental health, utilities, transportation, and other needs. Use the web or app when the call center is closed, and confirm the program, address, hours, eligibility, and wait time before relying on a referral.
Washoe County's Coordinated Entry process uses a housing assessment and local access points to connect people experiencing homelessness or a housing crisis with available assistance. The Resource Hub and partner access points can help identify a next step, but assessment does not guarantee housing, shelter, cleanup, or a particular placement.
Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services is a public behavioral-health pathway for adults in the region. Ask about current access, assessment, routine care, crisis options, and whether a local referral or insurance rule applies. This is care navigation, not cleanup or organizing support.
Reno Housing Authority administers public and affordable housing programs and Housing Choice Voucher pathways. Openings and waitlists change; the agency currently identifies a project-based application opportunity while the general voucher waitlist may be closed. Confirm the current list, application route, reasonable accommodations, and housing deadline directly.
Washoe County Senior Services helps older adults and caregivers connect with support, nutrition, homemaker services, representative-payee help, and other independence-focused programs. Ask about current intake, functional needs, waitlists, and whether a home-safety or caregiver concern belongs with another county program.
Safety and stability
These pathways serve different situations. Read the labels carefully before calling, especially when a response may involve protective services, housing screening, crisis response, coordinated entry, code enforcement, or emergency assistance.
Call 911 when there is immediate danger, fire, a medical emergency, violence, or a threat that cannot wait for a scheduled service. Emergency dispatch is not a hoarding-support program, behavioral-health counseling service, or cleanup provider. When the situation is not immediately dangerous, begin with support, care, or navigation.

Washoe County Adult Services supports adults facing difficult life circumstances, legal needs, limited resources, or risks affecting independence. Ask which current program fits. Adult Services is not a general cleanup referral and does not guarantee a home visit, funding, or a particular outcome.
Adult Protective Services may be appropriate when there is a genuine concern about abuse, neglect, self-neglect, exploitation, or inability to remain safe. Use protective services for protection concerns, not as a general cleanup referral. Confirm the current intake route, jurisdiction, and emergency instructions before relying on older directory information.
The City of Reno identifies the Nevada Cares Campus as a local homelessness-response resource. It may be a starting point for people without a safe place to stay, but shelter access, capacity, belongings, privacy, and program rules can change. Use Coordinated Entry for a broader housing assessment.
CrossRoads is a Washoe County adult-services pathway for people experiencing homelessness, with screening and connections to health care and community supports. It is not a cleanup service or a guarantee of housing. Call to confirm the current access route and what information to bring.
Reno Code Enforcement handles property-maintenance and nuisance concerns, including trash, debris, and other conditions that may affect safety or neighbors. A report can lead to inspection, notice, deadlines, or enforcement. This is a regulatory pathway, not voluntary peer support, therapy, or emergency dispatch.
Reno Direct can help route city-service questions and neighborhood concerns, including bulky items, trash, or property-maintenance questions. Confirm the department, jurisdiction, and expected response. It is not a hoarding-support program or emergency dispatch; call 911 for immediate danger.
Reno Housing lists special-purpose voucher and rental-assistance pathways and directs residents to partner agencies when funding or referrals are available. Ask about current openings, eligibility, documentation, reasonable accommodations, and whether assistance can address a housing deadline. It is not cleanup funding.
People and practical help
These listings offer connections for care, education, housing, benefits, utilities, aging, food, organizing, or disposal. They are independent organizations; ask about current availability, cost, scope, consent, and safety before relying on them.
Reno's seasonal community-cleanup program accepts certain residential bulky items.
