Carastar Health is a nonprofit behavioral-health provider serving Montgomery and surrounding counties. Alabama Adult Protective Services

Alabama DHR Adult Protective Services protects older and disabled adults from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and conditions that may lead to unnecessary institutionalization. A hoarding concern can involve self-neglect or immediate safety risk, but APS is not a cleanup service and intervention standards apply. Call 911 for immediate danger.

The Montgomery Community Action Committee and Community Development Corporation is the local agency identified by Alabama's energy-assistance program for Montgomery County. These pathways serve different situations. Read the labels carefully before calling, especially when a response may involve protective services, housing screening, code enforcement, or emergency dispatch.

24/7 behavioral-health crisis support - Montgomery region; crisis response, residential, and emergency limits apply

Carastar Crisis Center

Carastar identifies its Montgomery crisis center as a 24/7 behavioral-health crisis pathway and lists mobile crisis and crisis-residential services. Call for behavioral-health crisis support and ask what response is available in the person's location. Call 911 for a medical emergency, fire, violence, or immediate threat; this is not a cleanup service.

Alabama DHR Adult Protective Services - Services

Alabama DHR describes protective assessment, evaluation, plans of care, homemaker services, emergency shelter care, and mental-health counseling for eligible adults at risk of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or unnecessary institutionalization. Ask how to report a Montgomery County concern and what information is needed. APS does not guarantee a particular service or cleanup outcome.

Montgomery Property Maintenance Division

The city's Property Maintenance Division addresses properties that violate ordinances or create public nuisances, including accumulated litter, junk, trash, debris, appliances, furniture, and building materials. Montgomery Housing Authority

The Montgomery Housing Authority provides public-housing and Housing Choice Voucher information. Its current FAQ says the Project-Based and Tenant-Based voucher waiting lists are closed, so there is no immediate application pathway until a list opens. This is housing navigation, not emergency shelter or a cleanup benefit; confirm status before applying.

Alabama LIHEAP

Alabama's Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program may help eligible households with heating and cooling costs. City of Montgomery Sanitation

Montgomery Sanitation describes twice-weekly garbage collection, weekly curbside trash and yard-waste collection, bulk-trash Saturdays, and drop-off points. Bulk collection follows a schedule and accepted-material rules; confirm dates, set-out requirements, and whether an item needs another disposal route before moving it.
