Carbon-Monroe-Pike Mental Health & Developmental Services — Pike office
Ask for the appropriate clinical provider or case-management pathway. No local hoarding-specialist opening is verified; describe your needs and ask about qualified care.
A Hoarding Alliance local resource guide
You do not have to solve everything before asking for help. A conversation, a safer path through a room or one practical concern can be a place to begin.
Start here - Fight the Blight
Fight the Blight is the nonprofit first-conversation and virtual-group front door. Ask about current support for your location. County, clinical, peer and housing programs each have their own scope, eligibility and availability.
Talk about hoarding-related support, family concerns and current virtual groups. You can begin without a finished room.
Role: nonprofit first-conversation and virtual-group front door; geography: remote; ask about Pike County; cost/eligibility: confirm current program fit and availability; emergency limit: nonclinical; not therapy, crisis response, shelter or cleanup
For immediate danger, fire or a medical emergency, call 911. For a mental-health crisis, call or text 988 or call the local Carbon-Monroe-Pike crisis line at 570-992-0879. Nonclinical support, referrals and county intake are not emergency response.
First conversations
You do not need to know the perfect service name before reaching out. These organizations can help you understand the landscape and identify a next step.
Ask for the appropriate clinical provider or case-management pathway. No local hoarding-specialist opening is verified; describe your needs and ask about qualified care.
Call 211 or text your ZIP to 898-211 for food, housing, utilities and other referrals. A referral does not guarantee assistance.
Speak with the housing coordinator about housing loss, rent or utility difficulties and the county's current assistance pathways. Older emergency-rental program pages do not establish current funding.
Use the directory to look for clinicians, support groups or organizers. Search results do not verify competence, local availability or a hoarding-specific treatment opening.
Safety and stability
These pathways serve different situations. Read the labels carefully before calling, especially when a response may involve crisis care, protective services, shelter, housing rules, legal advocacy, or emergency dispatch.
Telephone, chat, text and mobile crisis services are offered 24/7. Call 570-992-0879 or text 63288 to discuss a mental-health crisis and next steps.
Reach out for emotional distress, suicidal thoughts or concern about someone else. You do not need to solve everything before calling.
For domestic or sexual violence, call 570-253-4401 or 570-296-4357. Ask about safety planning, advocacy and appropriate shelter support without assuming a bed is available.
Use the statewide 800-490-8505 hotline for concerns about an older adult's safety. Reporting and assessment are distinct from voluntary organizing help or an emergency cleanout.
People and practical help
These listings connect the local community with housing, food, behavioral health, benefits, transit, survivor advocacy, disability support, peer support, and practical resources. Ask about current availability, cost, scope, consent, and safety before relying on them.
Ask about peer-led groups and family education. Pike support now belongs to this affiliate, rather than NAMI NEPA; no Milford hoarding-specific group is verified.
For a non-emergency conversation, the regional agency lists 866-654-8114. Use 988 or the local crisis line for urgent mental-health crisis support.
Ask about assessment, home-delivered meals, personal care and caregiver supports. Services may help with daily needs, but do not establish a funded hoarding cleanout.
The current county page lists local pantries and links to a food-bank finder. It lists Ecumenical Food Pantry at 570-296-8123; confirm its current pickup arrangements rather than relying on an old schedule.
Ask about eligible roof, gutter, window, heating or accessibility repairs. Mold, mobile homes, reverse mortgages and structural repairs are excluded on the current page. Approval requires a contract and lien; this is not unrestricted cash or a hoarding-removal grant.
Ask about eligibility, current fares, accessible service and booking requirements. County pages differ on same-day cutoffs, so confirm directly and do not depend on a same-day ride.
Call the MATP-specific office at 570-296-3408 to ask about enrollment and book each trip. The program determines a suitable mode; mileage reimbursement may be available for eligible trips.
Start with the borough office for ordinance questions or proposed property changes. If you have a notice, ask which department issued it and what the written requirements and deadlines mean; support intake does not suspend them.
The borough lists Thursday collection beginning at 7 a.m., with bagged garbage inside the can and nothing outside it, including cardboard. Ask before setting out extra material, furniture, electronics or hazardous items; a large cleanout needs a separate plan.
Call the main library at 570-296-8211 about resources and practical access to information. Confirm what help is available for online forms or technology; private application handling is not guaranteed.
Ask about consent-based groups, sorting or organizing assistance and support for friends or family. No local visit, funded service or cleanup outcome is promised.
Explore judgment-free peer connection and ongoing support. Digital peer support is distinct from qualified clinical care, housing assistance and in-person cleanup.
A note from the Alliance
This guide is anchored in Milford, Pennsylvania, and includes city, county, state, nonprofit, national, and independent pathways. A listing here does not mean Fight the Blight endorses every provider or can guarantee availability. The Hoarding Alliance is not a city or county agency, therapy practice, emergency service, or cleanup company. We will keep reviewing this page, but please confirm details directly before relying on them.
