Fight the Blight offers virtual support groups for people affected by hoarding and clutter concerns. Reach out from Miami to ask about current group options and the best place to begin. This is a nonprofit, peer-centered starting point - not emergency or clinical care.
The University of Miami's Program for Anxiety, Stress, and OCD describes individual treatment and group programs for hoarding disorder, including skills for sorting, discarding, reducing acquiring, and family support. The page says the self-help group is not currently enrolling and that individual availability is very limited; ask about current eligibility, wait time, fees, and research participation.
The International OCD Foundation lists this Miami psychologist as providing individual, family, and group therapy for OCD and related disorders, including hoarding. The listing describes in-person and telehealth appointments and English and Spanish services. Ask about current intake, insurance, private-pay rates, and treatment fit.
211 Miami connects Miami-Dade residents with community resources for housing, counseling, food, financial assistance, home care, and other needs. It also provides crisis counseling and referrals. Ask about current eligibility, language access, shelter availability, and whether a referral or navigator is available.
The International OCD Foundation directory can help people search for hoarding-related therapists, programs, support groups, organizers, and task forces. Availability, credentials, insurance, fees, and service area can change; use it as a starting point and confirm every detail with the provider.
Safety and stability
These pathways serve different situations. Read the labels carefully before calling, especially when a response may involve protective services, housing screening, or emergency dispatch.
Miami-Dade County’s Minimum Housing Code requires houses and apartments to be maintained in safe and sanitary condition. The County explains that code complaints may lead to inspection and that anonymous complaints may be limited unless the reported condition presents an imminent public-health or safety threat. This is an enforcement pathway, not a supportive cleanup service; call 911 for immediate danger.
Florida guidance identifies 988 as the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline for mental-health and suicide-related distress. Call or text 988 for yourself or someone else. Call 911 for an immediate threat, medical emergency, or fire. 988 is not a cleanup or housing service.
Florida APS investigates suspected abuse, neglect, and exploitation involving older adults and adults with disabilities in the community. Use the statewide abuse hotline for a safety concern involving a vulnerable adult. APS is not a general clutter referral line; use 911 for an emergency and confirm the current reporting process directly.
The Miami-Dade Homeless Trust is the county's lead homelessness agency and lists a Homeless Helpline for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The Helpline connects callers with outreach, shelter, and housing pathways; availability and eligibility vary. Do not assume a shelter bed is immediately available.
The City of Miami describes outreach, housing and shelter placement, transportation, employment, and support-service referrals for people experiencing homelessness. The City directs callers to the Homeless Trust Helpline and notes that program access and placement depend on current resources.
People and practical help

Confirm current residency, functional eligibility, assessment requirements, service scope, and wait time. This is a home-support pathway, not hoarding treatment or a general cleanup service.
Miami-Dade's official call-taker guidance describes animal hoarding as a situation involving insufficient nutrition, sanitation, shelter, or veterinary care, and directs animal-cruelty investigations for suspected cases. This pathway is for animal welfare and safety concerns, not a substitute for behavioral-health support or cleanup planning.

Unburied, from The Peer Tree, is a judgment-free digital peer-support pathway for people affected by hoarding and clutter concerns and for friends and family. It can offer ongoing connection, tools, and momentum from Miami or anywhere else. It is not therapy, clinical care, or emergency support.
