Start here - Fight the Blight
Fight the Blight is the nonprofit front door and offers virtual peer-support groups; ask about current fit and capacity from Marlinton or elsewhere. The Peer Tree is a separate private-pay pathway; confirm scope, service area, and fees. Unburied is a digital peer-support pathway, not therapy or emergency support. Local listings are independent options, not endorsements; confirm access, eligibility, cost, and fit directly.

Safety and stability
These pathways serve different situations. Read the labels carefully before calling, especially when a response may involve crisis care, protective services, shelter, housing rules, legal advocacy, or emergency dispatch.
Pocahontas County Emergency Management identifies 911 as the number for situations needing immediate police, fire, or EMS assistance. Its published non-emergency numbers are for informational contact or when 911 cannot be reached, not a substitute when someone is in immediate danger. Help4WV provides confidential statewide behavioral-health and substance-use support by phone, text, and web chat, 24 hours a day. Ask about available services, insurance, and local access; treatment and openings depend on the program. Email is not monitored around the clock. For immediate danger, call 911.
Seneca Health Services lists a 24/7 crisis line for urgent behavioral-health support and connection to care, including in its Pocahontas County service area. The crisis line is not a substitute for 911 in an immediate physical or medical emergency. Coverage, next steps, and costs for ongoing care depend on the situation.
The West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence lists Family Refuge Center for Pocahontas County and says licensed domestic-violence programs provide services without charge, though specific services vary. Call from a safe phone or device to ask about current options, safety planning, and contact methods. This is not emergency dispatch; call 911 for immediate danger.

Pocahontas Memorial Hospital is in Buckeye, south of Marlinton; the hospital says it moved from Marlinton in 1995. Its emergency department is open around the clock. For an emergency, call 911 rather than calling ahead. Confirm the location and current service details for non-emergency travel; insurance, billing, and financial-assistance questions should be directed to the hospital.
The hospital's Rural Health Clinic lists family and internal medicine, women's and children's care, sick visits, chronic-condition management, immunizations, and specialty clinics at its Buckeye facility. Posted clinic hours are weekdays; call before travel about scheduling, cost, coverage, and the right entrance. For urgent medical danger, call 911.
The hospital describes in-person and telemedicine behavioral-health appointments for children, teens, adults, and families, with service and clinician availability depending on age and program.
