Richland County Mental Health and Recovery Services describes a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented system of care for mental-health and addiction needs. Ask which local provider or level of care fits, and confirm privacy, insurance, fees, wait time, and crisis procedures.
Richland County Job and Family Services can help route questions about benefits, family support, and protective services. Ask about SNAP, cash assistance, Medicaid, adult safety concerns, documents, and the least disruptive next step for the household.
Richland Public Health provides programs that protect and promote health, including environmental-health and public-health services for people of all ages. Ask which office has jurisdiction for sanitation, environmental, health, or housing-related concerns; this is not emergency dispatch or a cleanup provider.
Wayfinders Ohio, formerly Harmony House, serves people experiencing homelessness with shelter and supportive services. Call for current bed availability rather than relying on an online form, and ask about eligibility, accessibility, safety, and family accommodations.
The International OCD Foundation directory can be searched for clinicians, support groups, organizers, and programs that indicate an interest in hoarding-related care. Ask about experience, licensure, fees, insurance, wait time, privacy, and whether home-based or telehealth work fits.
Safety and stability
These pathways serve different situations. Read the labels carefully before calling, especially when a response may involve protective services, crisis response, shelter, victim advocacy, behavioral-health support, city reporting, or emergency dispatch.
Call 911 when there is immediate danger, fire, a medical emergency, violence, or a threat that cannot wait for a scheduled service. Emergency dispatch is not a hoarding-support program, counseling service, or cleanup provider.

Richland County's behavioral-health provider directory identifies Catalyst Life Services as offering crisis intervention, a 24-hour helpline and warmline, peer-support services, and the OASIS Club consumer drop-in center. Call to ask what support is available now; call 911 for immediate danger.
Ohio's Adult Protective Services portal explains how to report suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a vulnerable older adult. Use 911 for a life-threatening emergency and ask the Richland County office about local follow-up and confidentiality.
Richland County JFS describes protective services that may address abuse, neglect, domestic violence, inadequate food or shelter, essential medical needs, self-neglect, and related safety concerns. This is a protection and case-management pathway, not a general cleanup referral.
The Domestic Violence Shelter serves adults and adults with children fleeing domestic violence, sexual assault, or human trafficking in Richland County. Ask about the safest way to communicate, emergency shelter, advocacy, and current capacity.
