Start here - Fight the Blight
Fight the Blight is the nonprofit front door and offers virtual peer-support groups; ask about current fit and capacity from Kingwood or elsewhere. The Peer Tree is a separate private-pay pathway; confirm scope, service area, and fees. Unburied is a digital peer-support pathway, not therapy or emergency support. Local listings are independent options, not endorsements; confirm access, eligibility, cost, and fit directly.

A separate private-pay pathway for hoarding-related support. Ask directly about scope, location, availability, travel, and current fees before making plans. It is distinct from Fight the Blight's nonprofit programming and is not emergency care.
Unburied is a digital peer-support pathway for people affected by hoarding and clutter concerns and for friends and family. Use it for connection and ongoing peer support; it does not provide therapy, emergency response, or local case management.
West Virginia 211 connects people with information and referrals for needs such as food, housing, utilities, health, and family services. Ask for current Preston County options and confirm details directly with each provider; a referral does not guarantee an opening or assistance. Call 211 or use the contact options on the official site. For immediate danger, call 911.
Safety and stability
These pathways serve different situations. Read the labels carefully before calling, especially when a response may involve crisis care, protective services, shelter, housing rules, legal advocacy, or emergency dispatch.
Preston County lists its Office of Emergency Management at 304-329-1855 for county emergency-management matters. This is an administrative contact, not emergency dispatch. For immediate police, fire, rescue, or urgent medical response, call or text 911.
West Virginia 988 connects people in emotional distress or suicidal crisis with a trained crisis counselor by phone, text, or online chat. It is not fire, medical, or law-enforcement dispatch. For immediate physical danger or urgent medical response, call 911.
Help4WV offers a 24/7 helpline for West Virginians seeking support with mental-health or substance-use concerns, including help for family members. Call or text 844-435-7498 or use web chat to ask about current options, insurance, and local access. A suspected overdose is a medical emergency: call 911.
Valley HealthCare says its crisis team serves Preston County and answers its crisis hotline around the clock for mental-health and substance-use crises. Call 800-232-0020. For immediate physical danger or urgent medical response, call 911.
RDVIC identifies Preston County among its service counties and describes confidential, no-charge survivor services that include advocacy and emergency shelter, subject to safety planning and current capacity. Mon Health lists Preston Memorial Hospital at 150 Memorial Drive in Kingwood and describes a 24-hour physician-staffed emergency department. For urgent medical danger, call 911. For non-emergency care, contact the hospital to confirm the appropriate service, current availability, accepted coverage, and costs before traveling.
Valley HealthCare lists a Preston County office at 202 Tunnelton Street in Kingwood and provides behavioral-health and substance-use services across its region. Contact the office to confirm which services are currently available there, appointment options, eligibility, insurance, and any fees. For crisis support, use the separate crisis line; for immediate danger, call 911.
The health department lists its office at 106 W Main Street, Suite 203, Kingwood, and describes public-health, prevention, and clinical services. Contact staff about current offerings, appointment requirements, costs, and what to bring. Routine public-health services are not emergency care.
