Start here - Fight the Blight
Fight the Blight is the nonprofit front door and offers virtual peer-support groups; ask about current fit and capacity from Clay or elsewhere. The Peer Tree is a separate private-pay pathway; confirm scope, service area, and fees. Unburied is a digital peer-support pathway, not therapy or emergency support. Local listings are independent options, not endorsements; confirm access, eligibility, cost, and fit directly.

You do not need to know the perfect service name before reaching out. These organizations can help you understand the landscape and identify a next step.
A separate private-pay pathway for hoarding-related support. Ask directly about scope, location, availability, travel, and current fees before making plans. It is distinct from Fight the Blight's nonprofit programming and is not emergency care.
Unburied offers a digital peer-support pathway for people affected by hoarding and clutter concerns and for friends and family. Use it for connection and ongoing peer support; it does not provide therapy, emergency response, or local case management.
West Virginia 211 connects callers with community resource specialists for basic needs, health, housing, domestic-violence, and disaster-related referrals. Call 211, text your ZIP code to 898-211, or call 833-848-9905 if 211 does not connect through a phone using Wi-Fi or internet calling. A referral is not a guarantee of an open service; call 911 for immediate danger.
Safety and stability
These pathways serve different situations. Read the labels carefully before calling, especially when a response may involve crisis care, protective services, shelter, housing rules, legal advocacy, or emergency dispatch.
Clay County E-911 says residents can call or text 911. Use 911 for immediate danger, fire, or urgent medical response—not a routine county-office number or a general resource referral. If it is safe and possible, share the location and what kind of help is needed.

Help4WV offers round-the-clock phone, text, and chat access to support and referrals for behavioral-health and substance-use concerns. The West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence directory lists the YWCA Resolve Family Abuse Program for Clay County and publishes 304-587-7243. The coalition says licensed program services are free, but particular services vary by community; ask what is currently available and how to connect safely. The state lists the Clay County office at 94 Main Street, Clay, WV 25043, phone 304-587-4268, weekdays 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. Its listed programs include Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, emergency assistance, long-term-care Medicaid, non-emergency medical transportation, child-care subsidy, and LIEAP. Ask about each program's current application, income or other eligibility rules, and availability; this office is not emergency dispatch.
West Virginia PATH is the state's online entry for benefit applications and case management. Programs may include Medicaid, SNAP, cash assistance, and energy support; screening is not approval. Confirm identity, documentation, application status, and program-specific rules through the portal or Clay DoHS office.
The Clay County Family Support Center lists parent education, community events, GED assistance, safe youth activities, and pantries. Its fiscal agent says services are free and its door is open to everyone, while particular activities may have their own audience, schedule, or participation rules. Ask about current hours, program fit, pantry access, and available supplies before traveling; the site does not promise that a particular item or service is available.
The authority lists Clay among the counties served by its Housing Choice Voucher program. Its current application page says online applications closed September 1, 2026 and describes paper application instructions, including requesting an application by mail from its Charleston office. The county health department describes no-fee STI and HIV testing on Mondays and Fridays, with appointments on other weekdays; it also lists family-planning services and WIC for Clay County through the Central West Virginia program.
