Ask about scope, cost, travel, consent, safety, and whether support is available in Charlevoix or Charlevoix County.
Unburied, from The Peer Tree, offers a judgment-free digital pathway with peer support, groups, and tools for people directly affected and for friends or family supporters. It is not therapy, a crisis service, or a substitute for emergency help.
Safety and stability
These pathways serve different situations. Read the labels carefully before calling, especially when a response may involve crisis care, protective services, shelter, housing rules, legal advocacy, or emergency dispatch.
Call 911 when someone is in immediate danger, there is a fire or medical emergency, violence, or a life-safety threat. Tell the dispatcher the location, immediate hazard, and any access or mobility issue responders should know.
Charlevoix County lists the Sheriff's Department at 231-547-4461 and uses 911 for emergency dispatch. Use the non-emergency number for local safety routing and call 911 when an immediate threat is present.
The City of Charlevoix lists its Police Department at 231-547-3258 and describes 24-hour police coverage. Use 911 for immediate danger, violence, or another emergency.
The City of Charlevoix lists Fire and EMS among its departments and provides current department information and contacts through its directory. Do not delay 911 when smoke, fire, blocked egress, serious injury, or another immediate hazard is present.
Charlevoix County participates in a tri-county emergency-management program with Cheboygan and Emmet Counties. Use current county or emergency-management information for preparedness and hazard planning; call 911 for an active emergency.

North Country Community Mental Health serves Charlevoix County and lists a 24/7 Crisis Help Line at 877-470-4668. Call for immediate behavioral-health crisis support; it is not a hoarding-support provider or emergency medical substitute.
North Country lists 877-470-7130 for access to services and describes outpatient, home and community, disability, youth, and co-occurring support. Contact the Access Center to ask about current options and eligibility.
Call or text 988 for immediate emotional distress, suicidal thoughts, or a behavioral-health crisis. The 988 service is not a hoarding-support provider and does not replace 911 when someone is in immediate danger.
The Women's Resource Center of Northern Michigan provides confidential advocacy and support in Charlevoix County, including domestic-violence and sexual-assault services, safety planning, and housing and financial advocacy. Call 231-347-0082 or 800-275-1995.
Michigan DHHS provides the statewide reporting pathway for suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation involving an adult or child. Call 855-444-3911. A report is not a substitute for emergency response or a voluntary support plan.

Veterans, service members, and people supporting them can call 988 and press 1, text 838255, or use the Veterans Crisis Line website. This is a crisis pathway, not a hoarding-support provider or substitute for emergency services.
Michigan DHHS Emergency Relief programs may help eligible households with certain urgent needs such as shelter, utilities, or relocation. Review current rules and apply through the state or local DHHS pathway; a pending application is not emergency shelter or medical care.
Michigan 211 connects callers with current local and statewide resources. Call 211 or search online for housing, food, utility, transportation, health, and other needs; call 911 for an immediate emergency.

The Charlevoix County Commission on Aging provides senior and caregiver supports such as home-delivered meals, senior-center meals, in-home respite, personal care, homemaker services, and Medicare or Medicaid assistance planning. Call 231-237-0103.
The Area Agency on Aging of Northwest Michigan serves Charlevoix County and provides information and access to services for older adults, adults with disabilities, and caregivers. Call 800-442-1713 or 231-947-8920.
