Unburied, from The Peer Tree, offers a judgment-free digital pathway with peer support, groups, and tools for people directly affected and for friends or family supporters. It is not therapy, a crisis service, or a substitute for emergency help.
Safety and stability
These pathways serve different situations. Read the labels carefully before calling, especially when a response may involve crisis care, protective services, shelter, housing rules, legal advocacy, or emergency dispatch.
Call 911 when someone is in immediate danger, there is a fire or medical emergency, violence, or a life-safety threat. Tell the dispatcher the location, immediate hazard, and any access or mobility issue responders should know.
The Cadillac Police Department provides law-enforcement services within the City of Cadillac and coordinates code enforcement. Use 911 for immediate danger; the department's 24-hour contact is for appropriate non-emergency public-safety questions within the city.
The Wexford County Sheriff's Office provides countywide law-enforcement, corrections, animal-control, and public-safety services from Cadillac. Use 911 for an active emergency and the office's administrative contact for appropriate non-emergency routing.
Wexford County Central Dispatch receives and prioritizes emergency calls, dispatches fire, police, and medical resources, and routes non-emergency public-safety concerns. Call 911 for an emergency; the published non-emergency number is for routine calls.
Wexford County EMS provides emergency medical response for the county. Call 911 when someone needs urgent medical help; the county's published EMS contacts are administrative and operational numbers, not a replacement for emergency dispatch.
The Cadillac Fire Department provides fire protection, prevention, inspection, investigation, emergency medical services, hazardous-materials response, and rescue within its service area. Call 911 for an active emergency; contact the department for prevention and inspection questions.
Wexford County Emergency Management helps prepare and alert the public and coordinate response and recovery with law enforcement, fire departments, EMS, search and rescue, and other partners. It can help with preparedness planning; call 911 for an active emergency.
Cadillac Hospital's emergency room is open 24 hours every day and treats serious medical, surgical, and psychiatric emergencies. The hospital is at 400 Hobart Street; call 911 for a severe, life-threatening emergency rather than driving yourself.
Northern Lakes Community Mental Health provides behavioral-health access and crisis support for its service area. Call 833-295-0616 for the 24/7 crisis line or 800-492-5742 for access questions; ask about eligibility, payment, and available services.
Call or text 988, or use the 988 chat, for immediate emotional distress, suicidal thoughts, or a behavioral-health crisis. 988 is not a hoarding-specific service and does not replace 911 for an immediate physical emergency.
OASIS provides a 24-hour crisis line, residential shelter, advocacy, safety planning, support groups, and transitional housing for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Call 231-775-7233 or 800-775-4646 for crisis support; call 911 if someone is in immediate danger.
Report suspected abuse or neglect of a child, or abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a vulnerable adult, to Michigan MDHHS Centralized Intake at 855-444-3911 any time day or night. This is a protective-services report line, not a general hoarding-support referral.
The Wexford County Prosecutor's Office publishes victim-rights information and local counseling, shelter, and support referrals. Contact the office to ask about victim advocacy and court-related support; it is not an emergency response or cleanup service.
Veterans, service members, and their loved ones can call 988 and press 1, text 838255, or use the Veterans Crisis Line chat. This is crisis support, not a hoarding-specific service or a substitute for emergency responders.
The City of Cadillac Community Development Department handles planning, zoning inquiries, applications, building and trade permits, and enforcement of city zoning ordinances. Contact the department for property-stability and code questions; use 911 for an immediate safety emergency.
The Wexford County Building Department issues permits and conducts inspections for much of the county, while the City of Cadillac handles its own permits. Contact the department about code and permit questions; call 911 for an active fire or life-safety emergency.
Cadillac's Public Works and Engineering department is responsible for city streets, parks, cemetery, forestry, and facilities management. It can route appropriate municipal property or infrastructure questions; it does not provide private-home cleanup or clinical support.
Contact MISS DIG 811 before digging or excavation so underground utility lines can be marked. This helps reduce property and personal-safety risks during repair or stabilization work; it is not a cleanup or emergency service.

New Hope Center provides year-round emergency temporary shelter for men, women, and children experiencing homelessness, with a safe bed, meals, shower, laundry, and case-management connection. Call 844-900-0500 before contacting the local shelter and confirm current intake and capacity.

The Feeding America West Michigan directory lists the Cadillac Revival Center Community Food Pantry at 5676 M-55, with Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning distribution hours and a request to bring your own box. Call or check the current provider information before traveling.
